today I learned: a fleet of 29000 rubber ducks has been navigating its way around the world’s oceans for the last 20 years after being dumped in the middle of the pacific. scientists have been tracking the ducks’ movements to learn more about ocean currents. also, aztecs were making the sharpest blades known to science 2,500 years ago out of obsidian, and, as of relatively recently, the technology is starting to catch on again. next, according to an international survey of 5,000 people, 91% of men and 84% of women have fantasized about killing someone. yeeeeesh. aaand finally, british police cars carry a teddy bear to console children after an accident 🙂
